Find your way around
The site switcher chooses the site you are working on; the workspace switcher chooses what you want to do.
Step by step

Use the site switcher in the top-left to change sites or return Home.

Use the workspace switcher beside it to open Editor, Pages, Posts, Shop, Submissions, Media, Analytics or Settings.

Changes in the dashboard apply to the currently selected site. Check the site name before editing.

Use Publish for site content once it looks right in preview.
