Post statuses: Draft and Live
Control who can see each post.
Step by step

Draft: only you can see it in the dashboard.

Live: visitors can open it at its address and it appears in Post sections.

In the post list, use the post menu to Set live or Move to draft, Duplicate (the copy starts as a draft), Open the live post or Delete it.

A Live post with a future display date appears once that date arrives.
Good to know
Saving changes to a Live post updates it for visitors immediately; there is no separate Publish step for posts.
